We hear a lot about Farm to School, Farm to Table, Thank Your Farmer and all kinds of events and initiatives focused on our land-based food system and appreciation for our farmers. But we hardly see that focus on our marine based food system and thanking our fishermen. That has changed over the past few years mostly thanks to the increased awareness Community Supported Fisheries (CSFs) and other initiatives have created. We at NAMA are proud to be at the epicenter of this work along with our fellow collaborators and fishermen.

One of those collaborators is Nourish Restaurant in Lexington, Massachusetts who joined us last year in an Earth Day celebration by hosting an ALLocal Seafood Dinner (yes... we stole the ALLocal Dinner concept from our friends at the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Boston). So since it's Earth Day again, Nourish is teaming up with NAMA once again to host a dinner just to thank our fishermen. Nourish is among the restaurants blazing a trail that honors who brings our seafood to our table. As it was last year, a local fisherman or fisherwoman will be seated at each table allowing diners to enjoy their meal while having an unfiltered, intimate conversation with those who fish about what's happening to our ocean and our fishing communities.
